1. Clinical Pharmacy

Clinical pharmacy is a branch where clinical pharmacists provide healthcare and medication to patients. They have to be in constant contact with the nurses, doctors and physicians about the well being of the patient and the quantity of drugs administered to them.

2. Nuclear Pharmacy

Nuclear pharmacy is a branch where nuclear pharmacists have to prepare and administer radioactive medicine for patients to tackle certain diseases. Since there is a huge risk involved in this field, nuclear pharmacists have to become authorized users of radiopharmaceuticals to practice nuclear pharmacy. 3. Pharmacognosy

Pharmacognosy is the study of plants or other natural sources as a possible source of drugs. Anyone who does an M.pharm in this discipline is tasked to observe the interaction between a living organism and the chemical, and the subsequent normal/abnormal reaction to it. They also have to determine whether these living organisms have any medicinal properties in them.

4. Pharmacology

Pharmacology is the study of drugs and their actions. The drugs can be either man-made or natural. If the drugs exhibit medicinal qualities, they can be used to manufacture medicines in pharmaceutical companies.

The M.Pharm graduate in Pharmacology is tasked with learning the composition and properties of the drug, its synthesis, and studying its various other biological components like cells and molecules.  

5. Toxicology

Toxicology is the branch of science that deals with the study of adverse effects of drugs and detection of poisoning. It overlaps with other disciplines like biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and medicine. This discipline is used to detect drug abnormalities and for post-mortem reports.
