As a budding physiotherapist, you will have to treat certain illnesses. If you are a student in one of the physiotherapy colleges in Bangalore or elsewhere, you might be aware of this. To enlighten you about the illnesses physiotherapists treat, we had written a blog earlier. The blog received a good response, and several students requested us to cover more diseases that they would have to treat in their career. This is why we have this new blog to include new problems you might have to handle as a physiotherapist.

Tennis elbow

This problem is known as lateral epicondylitis. The common term used for it is tennis elbow. Overuse of arms, forearms and hands causes this problem. The condition results in pain outside the elbow. You don't necessarily have to play tennis to develop this injury. Treatment techniques for tennis elbow are ultrasound, laser therapy, and dry needling.

Heel and foot pain
This pain can result from a problem in any part of the foot such as muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons or even the skin. Treatment techniques include rehabilitation exercises, acupuncture, dry needling, Graston technique, and manual technique.

Headaches
Of every six headaches, one is caused because of a cervical spine. A headache caused by the cervical spine is usually on one side of the head. The pain starts at random intervals and then reaches a point of continuous pain. One of the most likely reasons for this kind of headache is excessive stress on the neck and spine. Treatment techniques include rehabilitation exercises, manual therapy, dry needling, acupuncture and Graston technique.

Motor vehicle accident injuries
A motor vehicle can cause a variety of injuries. The injury can be caused to the driver and the passenger as well. It takes meticulous attention to heal this person. Treatment techniques will vary according to damage.

Golfer's elbow
This is a problem where the pain is caused in the inner side of the elbow. This is the place where the forearms muscle attach. The pain can spread up to forearms and wrist. Treatment techniques include rehabilitation exercises, acupuncture, ultrasound, dry needling, manual techniques and Graston technique.

Best physiotherapy colleges in Bangalore and elsewhere will teach you these treatment techniques in detail. Understand these problems, their solutions, and you can have a successful career. All the best!
